PLAYING
Hey have met a new bunch of moms that are as crazy wonderful as the ‘Sex in the Suburb’s Moms’. They are Benjamin’s schoolfriends’ moms, and Wow! What a gorgeous collection of people. From Demartini experts to dog lovers to stepmoms to docs who do botox! Got them to give me their ‘soap opera names’ (See Who is Roxy Sydenham)….and this is what I got … Gia Denise, Sammy Fifth Avenue, Ruby Roe, Snippie War and Boele Luditz! Have decided to call these moms (with noble apologies to Desparate Housewives) The De-Lovely Housewives! Here’s a pic of us at an en masse playdate!
DANCING
Hey! I went to a Mr Y - Neil Diamond concert the other night! Went with some of the Sex in the Suburbs moms (Cos the show was at our kids’ school) … Must say it was quite a new and weird experience going to one of his concerts as neither a girlfriend nor wife. Just goes to show that even at my (tender young! ) age…new experiences always lie ahead of me! Well my alter ego, Roxy Sydenham took over, and has written an entry in her WASSUP section about the evening… so if you’re interested in what went down please read on in Who’s Roxy Sydenham…just bear in mind that she, (Roxy that is) embellishes most tales , so at least 20% of the story might be a little.. um …fantastical! But its up to you to decide what is fact and what is fiction!
BREATHING
Snippie Forsythe and her hubby treated the boys and I to a weekend up in the mountains past Lydenberg. Lucy Dover and her family joined us. There were seven kids between us! My boys thought it was the best time of their lives. There were mountain hikes, story telling, charades, treasure hunts …and their clothes were drenched in dirt at the end of every day! Just the way it should be! I had good soul breathing time too! Yoga every morning facing the magical mountains, and horserides in the mist. YUM! Luverlly Stuff!

WORKING
Still busy with Green & Blue and getting more enchanted by the pics… Take a look at Charlie’s line drawing for the following text from the story …
"Wat is die beste van jou Pa?" vra sy.
"Hy is groot en sterk en ek voel veilig by hom..." antwoord Steven.
"... en hy is bobaas met rekenaarspeletjies!" sê Billy.
"Pappa gooi my op in die lug in en dan vang hy my weer ... en hy gee my groot drukkies, nes 'n beer! Sy drikkies is ongelooflik ... dis 'n groot woord vir ... lekker!" voeg hy by.
The Bittersweet / Bittersoet audio CD is coming out this March ...
On Sat 6th March, I spoke at the Voelgoed Expo. Was a great experience. And met some lovely ladies! Signed books for over an hour afterwards. But was thrilled with the support. Thanks to all involved. (And tx to Crazy Chameleon who gave me the prettiest Chocolate Koek afterwards!)
TRAVELLING
First official 2010 motivational speaking event kicked off at Carltonville. Etta and co put on a superb show. Loved the heart tree and veggie garden signs. Got a beautiful ‘Heart Sculpture’ piece by Lourina Coetzee. She was inspired by the Pay it Forward message from The Bigheart Foundation button and designed something to symbolize Paying it Forward…kind of like one heart follows another and then another and then another… beautiful!
SEEING
Went to see Percy Jackson &The Lightning Thief. My son was in his element… being the Mythology buff that he is. Was thrilled to see Athena, The Minotaur and The Hydra to name but a few! In honour of his passion I have started a once a month Mythology club for him and his friends . In our first lesson we looked at Perseus’ battle with the Medusa and the kids learned (from Perseus!) that its good to get advice from our elders… and take a look at the pic to see what COOL warrior shields all the boys made!
TASTING
My mom came to stay for a week, she came especially to attend the boys’ Special Persons tea at their school. Seb’s Grade did a poem which my mom thought was particularly funny called ‘Granny’s gone off her ROCKER!!’…whilst she was here we were wined and dined by so many friends. We had Japanese, Italian and Indian cuisine! (Although not all at the same time!!) So now for my sins ….Asjas and I are about to embark on the Patrick Holford Liver Detox Diet…..HELLLLPPPPP! If I don’t ever post a WASSUP again you will know its because I have fallen into a tub of hummus and essential seed mix and NOT been able to get out!!!
Blessings All!!
