Green-and-blue_animDivorce/Separation is distressing for children but sometimes it is an inevitable situation, and learning to adapt to it becomes an intricate part of their lives. The children’s book Green & Blue was written by Natasha Sutherland and her mom Kenlynn. It addresses certain issues Natasha found whilst trying to create a platform for her boys to help them cope with the Divorce.
It’s a charming little slice of life story told through the eyes of children, and is beautifully illustrated by Charlie Vettori(with a bit of help from Natasha’s boys!) It is available in English -Green &Blue’ as well as Afrikaans-Groen & Blou’. The proceeds of this book are paid forward to The Bigheart Foundation

Educational Psychologist, Karin Bronkhorst, fully endorses this much needed book. She writes: ‘This story addresses core issues kids from separated/divorced families experience on a daily basis. It is more than just a story about likes and likeness, but a heart-warming affirmation that kids have the right to love and be loved by both their parents. A message all parents from separated families should remember.’

Billy and Steven are confused. Their parents have split up and live in separate houses, and now the two boys don’t know where they fit in. Do they belong to their mom or dad? Well, their friends Jean –Mari (an expert in Magic thinking) and Jonathan (the King of Cool) come to the rescue! Billy and Steven eventually figure out that they have both their mom’s specialness and their dad’s strength!

Green & Blue is a delightfully touching book that takes the boys on a journey through the dissimilar worlds of green shongololo clouds and blue buffaloes. It helps them realize that despite their parents’ differences and divorce, they are still loved and safe.
